One Sixty Mahjong — The Miami Edition
A lifetime of Miami memories, brought to the table.
Born and raised in Miami, I have always known a life surrounded by color, warmth, and a certain unexpected charm. So much of what makes this place extraordinary becomes simply familiar when it is home.
The Cuban coffee that begins each morning. The chatter of parakeets overhead as I walk the dog. Iguanas crossing the street like prehistoric dinosaurs, taking their time as though the neighborhood belongs to them.
I think of the tropical plants we pass every day without a second glance, until a bromeliad sends up a brilliant spike of color. Suddenly, something so familiar asks us to stop and look. I think of our beaches, the palms against an open sky, and the colorful lifeguard stations that have become part of the landscape of my life.
The Miami Edition grew from these everyday memories—and from a desire to celebrate the beauty we sometimes take for granted.
Each illustration holds a little of the Miami I know and love: its daily rituals, its unexpected beauty, and its unmistakable sense of humor. Creating this collection has been a way of looking at home with fresh eyes and gathering those familiar details into something I can share.
Mahjong, too, is built around rituals. The sound of tiles being shuffled. The building of walls. The pleasure of sitting down together and letting conversation unfold between turns. Bringing my memories of Miami to that table felt natural.
My hope is that the Miami Edition brings warmth and a sense of discovery to your table, inviting you to look a little closer, share a memory, and enjoy the company around you.
Welcome to my Miami. It is a joy to share a little of home with you.
